
THE INAUGURAL CEREMONY
Held on Sunday 24th April, the inaugural ANZAC ceremony at Stonefall Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Harrogate commenced at 3 pm. Alderman Mike Newby of Harrogate International Partnerships officiated the ceremony, Gareth Gibbs delivered the Ode of Remembrance, Tewitt Youth Band supplied the music, student Lucy Hargreaves of Harrogate Grammar School sang the National Anthems and Sam Featherstone (also of H.G.S) read the poem.
Speeches were delivered by Sub.Lt. Andrew Chilsholm of the RNZN, Cmd. Matthew Radford of the RAN and Kate Spencer on behalf of the Lord Mayor of Wellington and the people
of New Zealand.
