GOING FORWARD... with Australia and New Zealand
Since the first ANZAC ceremony at Stonefall Cemetery in April 2022, the attendance of Military Personnel and the general public has increased.
The aviators buried in Stonefall came from the far corners of the world to fight with the Royal Air Force in the name of freedom for their country and for their families. In ANZAC ceremonies all around the world, these men are not forgotten. Going forward means that in Harrogate, where 120 of these young aviators are buried, they will never be forgotten and the ceremony created here will continue.
In 2024, we had representation from the the King's Representative from the Lord Lieutenancy of North Yorkshire, Charter Mayor of Harrogate, Royal Australian Air Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force, Royal Air Force, Royal Air Force Association, Royal British Legion, Local M.P for Harrogate & North Yorkshire, North Yorkshire Constabulary and Harrogate International Partnerships.
Now with the establishment of ANZAC REMEMBRANCE, going forward means growing the ceremony in order that the wider public around Yorkshire are aware of the ceremony and they are able to attend and honour these men. There are many Australians and New Zealanders living around the North of England and we welcome them all to the ceremony.
Please pass on the information to others who would like to attend the ceremony that will be held this year on SUNDAY 27th APRIL and will commence sharply at 1.pm. at Stonefall Cemetery that is located on Forest Lane, Harrogate HG3 1DH. You are invited to arrive from 12.30 pm.
